Upgrade your BIOS

Flash your motherboard BIOS to avail additional features!
With the least amount of expertise and a keen sense for learning, BIOS can be play around with. But, it's safer to know the consequences and how to revert from alterrations before taking the plunge.
Windows Environment
The simplest way to upgrade is the Windows tool. It's specifically developed for motherboards. Most of the manufactures offer it with the motherboard CD.

BIOS Environment
Many motherboards such as the ones by ASUS have the menu option in BIOS that run the update within the BIOS. Just download the update, store it on media like the hard drive or a CD. Enter the correct path to the file and run it.
Through storage media
This is the most traditional way of updating the BIOS. Simply prepare a DOS bootable disk, save the update program and the BIOS update provided by the manufacturer and boot into DOS. At the command prompt, copy the files on to the hard drive and use the update program to run the BIOS update.
