Storage needs are expanding at a very rapid rate. Even home user nowadays need massive storage space because of the availability of high definition digital content. Also, the spread of gaming has contributed to the demand for storage.
Downloading from the Internet is another reason why storage is never enough. Terabyte hard disk drives are the answer to the voracious demand for storage space. Hitachi also announced the World's first Terabyte hard drive. This hard drive should meet the storage needs of home users as well as small offices. It's interesting to note that World's first hard disk, which had a capacity of 5 MB.
