Nokia RX-51 a.k.a N-900 and Maemo 5 get some hands-on time

Here are some of the salient features of the review, although we recommend you read the entire article:
*A side-slider form factor, unlike the kick-stand of the N97. The build quality is comparable to that of the E75.
*The resistive touchscreen persists, although it is a lot more responsive than the N97, probably because of Maemo 5 replacing S60. A variety of visual effects and smooth transitions give it an iPhone-like feel, which was sorely missing in the N97.
*The 5-megapixel camera is the same as that on the N97, but a much-needed lens shutter keeps it clean this time around.
* Maemo 5 does not differ greatly from Maemo 4 for the Nokia N810, but offers a faster boot time and there is partial compatibility for old Apps.
In conclusion, the author writes that it probably won’t become a hit, but the Nokia N900 is still a powerhouse of a phone that is important for the industry and sets the platform for bigger things to come from the Finnish manufacturer.
