Nokia’s ultra-popular touchscreen phone, the 5800 XpressMusic, may soon be seeing an upgrade. The US’ Federal Communication Commission (FCC) recently leaked images of what seems to be a new iteration of the phone, dubbed the 5800i.
Training their microscopes on these two images and over reports of some tests, the guys over at GSMArena unearthed two significant changes to the phone.
First, the 5800i does away with Wi-Fi, for some reason. One of the reasons the phone was so popular was because it threw in almost everything but the kitchen sink, so removing a key feature might not go down well with enthusiasts.
The second feature addresses one of the biggest complaints with the 5800 – its substandard camera. GSMArena seems to think that while it’s still a 3.15-megapixel camera, the sensor may have gotten larger.
